The Connection with Roberta Walker, Principal / Business Manager, Top Drawer Finance Solutions.

How many people work at your business? Two. Myself and my business partner Mandip Dhillon.

What do you want BSB members to know about you or your business? Top Drawer Finance Solutions is a local business, based in Boundary Street, West End.  We do all types of lending.  Home & investment loans, commercial, self-managed super funds, car finance, construction, first home buyers, business lending low doc, bridging loans and asset finance. We service clients Australia wide and internationally. Together we have more than 45 years combined experience in the banking & finance industry.

What do you like about the South Bank Precinct? In my view. South Brisbane/West End area is the last bastion of cool in Brisbane.  I love the collective diversity, the people, the restaurants, bars and shops.  I also love the more colourful characters; you meet on the Streets every day. It has a great vibe!

What has surprised you the most about the Covid experience? The world will never be the same again.  COVID has had a dramatic impact globally and locally.  I actually think that is has highlighted what a great leadership team we have at both a State & Federal level.  COVID has highlighted the need to appreciate our health, security, freedom and loved ones.  Most importantly it has shown us how lucky we are to be living in this beautiful city and wonderful country.

What are your words of wisdom?  Always have good manners, and always be kind and humble.

What do you want BSB members to know about you or your business?

Woollam is Australia’s oldest privately owned construction company – established 136 years ago in 1884 with grassroots right here in Brisbane. Thomas Woollam built the original Breakfast Creek hotel!

What do you like about the South Bank Precinct?

How family-friendly it is. Most of my Saturday’s are spent playing ‘crocodiles’ in the kid’s fountains with my two-year-old, followed by a smoothie and donut on the lush grass outside Nodo and soaking in the city view.

What has surprised you the most about the Covid experience?

How quickly we can adapt, and how scared I have become of sneezing in public.

What are your words of wisdom?

Choose family over work.
