Brisbane Secures LNG2029, the World’s Largest LNG Conference

More than 4,200 energy leaders, innovators and policymakers from over 80 countries are expected to attend LNG2029 in Brisbane, after the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) was announced as the host venue for the world’s largest liquefied natural gas conference and exhibition.

Aria Property Group in conjunction with Urbis has released The Low Line Master Plan, a pedestrian corridor below the railway viaduct connecting South Brisbane train station to the new riverside parklands developments on Montague Road.

The Low Line will provide a safe, accessible and shaded pedestrian and cyclist corridor
connecting Montague Road to the South Brisbane station and busway via Fish Lane. This will be achieved through landscaping, public art, lighting and signage enhanced by retail and other amenities.

Ghanem Group Hospitality’s transformation of the iconic Fox Hotel is taking shape, with the revival of its original heritage name – Hotel Terminus.

The return to the venue’s historic identity follows a community vote that also selected the names for the upper levels: Vixen Room and Fox Rooftop.

South Bank’s Very Own Dedicated Portrait Gallery

The precinct is set to welcome a new portrait gallery, opening in March 2026 at Stockwell’s 51 Fish Lane.

The Brisbane Portrait Gallery will be a new permanent gallery dedicated to portraiture, showcased through year-round exhibitions, events and workshops.

Stockwell will run the gallery, with the Brisbane Portrait Prize as exhibition and curatorial partner.
