Property owners with vacant shops for lease can now apply for Brisbane City Council’s Vibrantly Vacant program. Through this initiative, art decals will be temporarily installed on the front windows of empty shopfronts.

Significant progress has been made on the new Roma Street underground station as part of Cross River Rail with platform screen doors and escalators now installed. The station’s roof will be lifted into place and public art installed over the coming months. 

More than 46,000 people are expected to use the new Roma Street station each weekday by 2036.

South Bank Corporation and Containers for Change have partnered together and launched new solar-powered recycling Smart Bins in South Bank.

These Smart Bins are a first in Queensland with bar code reading technology to only accept containers eligible for 10-cent refunds.

Members wanting to use the Container for Change Smart Bins can find them on Grey Street and in the parklands.
