The Connection with Dave Cush, Founder, Dave’s Wine Revival
March 27, 2026 – The Connection
Tell us about your organisation?
At Dave’s Wine Revival, we are winemakers ourselves, so we know how tough times are for Aussie wine. We operate a cellar door venue specialising in custom labelling, servicing sectors like corporate gifting and fundraising (as well as personal gifting, of course!)
What do you like about the South Bank precinct?
It’s such a vital precinct for Brisbane’s tourism and hospitality sectors, filled with great operators. These are businesses I aspire to emulate.
Why did you join the industry?
I first got into wine whilst I was a miserable law student here in Brisbane in the late 90s. Once I learned that one could study wine at a tertiary level, I quit law and moved to Wagga to study viticulture. I met a redhead who was studying wine science and we found ourselves at her family farm in Tasmania, making the family’s wine and raising three boys. 26 years later, I’m still making and selling wine (and still married…)
What are your words of wisdom?
Do not stop. It’s only a mistake if you don’t learn from it.
Do you have a certain routine or habit that helps you through the day?
Ice bath most mornings.
What do you want BSB members to know about you or your business?
I love talking about wine in a grounded way. Wine is a lifestyle accessory, a simple beverage. It’s magical too, no doubt, but it can be enjoyed without all the exclusive language. I love it when I can help people enjoy wine whilst they’re accidentally learning something new.
