St Vincent de Paul Society
More than 9,937 members and volunteers across Queensland help those who are struggling to take control of their lives whilst restoring their dignity; providing a hand up, not just a hand out. In 2018, the Society in Queensland supported almost 331,561 people and provided approximately $231 million in financial assistance to those in need.
The Society differs from most charitable organisations in that our members, known as Vincentians, and volunteers are the core of our work. In Queensland, we have 210 Conferences (local branches) within our eight Diocese, or regions.
The members and volunteers are supported by some staff; however costs are kept to a minimum, meaning more money goes directly to those who are requiring the Society’s assistance. The Society’s assistance is only possible by the generosity and compassion of our supporters. Together we can make a difference to many lives
