Brisbane City Council has introduced a $5 million economic relief package and are waiving a significant number of fees, rents and charges for businesses, sporting and community groups.
Fees will be waived between 1 January and 31 March 2022.

Brisbane City Council will continue to undertake environmental investigations in South Brisbane, from December 2021 to June 2022, to inform the design of major infrastructure for Brisbane Metro.
These works will be predominantly undertaken out-of-hours to minimise impact on traffic. Some works may be required during the day (Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm). During the works, there will be periods of noise associated with the use of construction equipment.

Brisbane City Council is pleased to advise that all Brisbane Metro early works in South Brisbane is now complete. The first phase of the major construction of Brisbane Metro will commence in the Brisbane’s Central District from early September.
