Transformation of Riverside Restaurants

The transformation of the Riverside Restaurants building along the Clem Jones Promenade into new riverside open space commenced earlier this month.

Coinciding with the 25th birthday of the South Bank Parklands, Deputy Premier and Minister for Infrastructure and Planning, the Hon. Jackie Trad MP, announced on 20 June, that the severely flood-damaged Riverside Restaurants building would be demolished to make way for riverside public open space.

This is an important and exciting milestone for South Bank, its precinct partners, stakeholders and the public.

KEY DATES
Riverside Restaurants demolition:
3 October to late December 2017 (completion date is a forecast only)

Construction of the new riverfront open space:
February 2018 to Mid-2018

Site works will take place from 7am to 5pm Mon-Fri only.
Pedestrian and cyclist access along the Promenade will be maintained at all times.
