Tell us about your business/organisation?
Select Audio Visual is a corporate AV events company, specialising in services for conferences, meetings, product launches, exhibitions, gala dinner and special events of all shapes and sizes.

With a talented team of experts, we have a reputation for friendly personalised service, and a track record for creating of seamless and memorable events.

What is your role at your organisation?
A newly created role with the aim to building new business opportunities, nurturing relationships with our wonderful key clients, and promoting Select as Brisbane’s leading supplier of Audio Visual products and event staging services.

What are your key skills and responsibilities?
I don’t ‘sell’ anything! I pride myself on service excellence and an ability to create event solutions through a consultative approach and collaboration.

My role is to implement strategic plans, create engaging and memorable client experiences, activate effective marketing campaigns, and participate in industry memberships including BSB!

How many people work at your business?
We have 10 very talented team members, who are committed to success and a job well done. From the MD, to Project Managers, to full time operational crew, collectively we deliver outstanding events!

What is your favourite place in the precinct?
Hard to name just one, but I do love the QAGOMA precinct, however on the weekend it has to be Streets Beach!

What do you want BSB members to know about you or your business?
Being a dynamic and rapidly evolving industry, it’s essential for a business to stay abreast of changes and provide the best services for client events. Select Audio Visual continues to invest in and provide state-of-the-art audio, lighting and vision equipment, next generation technology and digital event services.

What is something people wouldn’t know about your business?
Me! They won’t know me in my new role … but do now! I look forward to meeting BSB members and supporting them with events expertise and advice.

What has recently happened at your organisation?
With a view to keeping up with the growing demands of the business, two things happened;

(1) New roles were created, and key staff were promoted to ensure improvement measures are implemented, and

(2) Our business relocated to new state-of-the-art warehouse facilities housing spacious admin offices. Drop by anytime for a cuppa!

What have you learnt lately?
More of a reminder lately, rather than learning something new is to “always look on the bright side of life” …. Monty Python!

What do you hope to achieve in your industry?
Reaching new bench-marks for event staging services through cutting-edge technology and genuine personalised service.
Our Managing Director, Pete Coorey, is a trail-blazer in the industry and is extremely passionate about the industry, its future direction, and his talented team who make event magic happen!

What inspires you?
Our team! I am surrounded by very clever and experienced individuals who inspire me every day! We all learn from each other and our share knowledge, which makes for a dynamic and positive work environment.

What are your words of wisdom?
“The biggest risk in life, is not taking a risk!”
