August 3, 2018 – Celebrating Members, The Connection

Rebecca Herbst, Sales Manager at Bees Nees City Realty

Tell us about your business/organisation?
We are a property firm that specialises in Brisbane’s inner city, looking after residential property management, property sales, and are known for our local knowledge and fresh approach.

What is your role at your organisation?
Sales Manager

What are your key skills and responsibilities?
Managing the sales team, as well as looking after the sale of our client’s homes, inspections and liaising with purchasers.

How many people work at your business?

What is your favourite place in the precinct?
Southbank Parklands! It is a great place to go to relax either on a lunch break or the weekend. Plus there is always something happening with markets, events or a great place to go for a night out for dinner or drinks.

What do you want BSB members to know about you or your business?
We’ve got a stack of great local real estate info on our website – it’s an easy way for BSB members to see what’s happening.

What is something people wouldn’t know about your business?
We laugh a lot. Real estate doesn’t need to be stern-faced all the time – we’re bloody good at what we do but don’t take ourselves too seriously!

What has recently happened at your organisation?
We’ve eaten a lot of cake. This must be the season for birthdays but yep…. Lots of cake Oh, we were finalists in the Qld Agency of the Year with REIQ too!

What have you learnt lately?
People will always come and go in your life, so make the most of your time together.

What do you hope to achieve in your industry?
I have achieved so much in the 21+ years I have been working in real estate, and have successfully managed multiple offices, travelled around Australia setting up offices and training the staff, as well as still being a successful salesperson helping my clients move to where they want to go, and I am a female auctioneer! Currently I am the Chair of the Residential Sales Chapter for the REIQ for the next 2 years, and I would have to say I have achieved everything I have always set out to do! My aim is to continue to help as many people in the 5km radius of the Brisbane CBD that we look after.

What inspires you?
Actually, it is our team, and the people I meet every day! Also knowing that by effectively marketing and selling our clients property, I am helping them with one of the largest assets they will ever own, and by keeping the process simple, and as stress free as possible, this inspires me to do that for everyone I help!

What are your words of wisdom?
Before you do anything – pick up the phone or just talking to people – smile, and think how can I help that person today!
