Tangalooma EcoMarines offers a free environmental program for schools in southeast Queensland. Each school appoints a support teacher and four student ‘EcoMarines ambassadors’ to lead various environmental activities within the school and community to reduce waste and help protect our environment. EcoMarines provide the activities and resources and needed to complete them. They hold fun, inspirational events throughout the year for schools and the community to attend.
EcoMarines ambassadors are having a positive influence in their schools and local communities. They are acquiring environmental, communication, cultural experiences and leadership skills and taking action across southeast Queensland, reducing plastics and litter in our waterways and contributing to long-term positive change for Moreton Bay.
All drains lead to the ocean so it is important to keep litter out of waterways. The Brisbane River flows into Moreton Bay which is full of beautiful marine and wild life. Tangalooma EcoMarines are on a mission to save the bay!
