Ramping up our focus on surface cleaning in response to COVID-19, with the additional wiping of hard surfaces and key customer touch points with anti-bacterial wipes already occurring. From today, we’re taking this one step further – tripling the number of staff focused on cleaning high traffic stations in morning and afternoon peak times, including South Bank, South Brisbane, Roma Street, Central, Fortitude Valley and Bowen Hills. Our trains are also undergoing additional surface cleaning as they enter depots and prior to their next service, and we’re spraying the inside of units with an odourless disinfectant.

We will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves and review in accordance with advice from the Federal Government, Australia’s Chief Medical Officer and the Queensland Government.

This is a challenging time for all of us and the safety and welfare of our guests, clients and team members and their families has always been of paramount importance and remains our top priority.

We have been working closely with all clients of upcoming events for a number of weeks now to help find solutions and assist in any way we are able.

If you have any questions or concerns about an event you are attending at BCEC please contact your event organiser.

BCEC is following all advice and guidelines from the Australian Government Department of Health and the Queensland’s Chief Health Officer, Dr Jeannette Young, with regards to preventing the spread of the virus and communicating to all patrons and visitors.

In line with this advice we have put in place comprehensive hygiene measures including placing hand sanitisers throughout the building and increasing our regime of sterilising surfaces and public touch points.

Hygiene instructions are posted in locations throughout the Centre including on the Centre’s digital signage system.

We are continuing to advise all organisers to follow Australian Government Department of Health guidelines to ensure their delegates, exhibitors and speakers who have recently returned from overseas or been in contact with a confirmed case of novel coronavirus do not attend events.

JMC Academy
“As we face an unprecedented challenge, I would like to re-affirm that JMC is continuously reviewing its operations with regards to COVID-19 and the precautionary measures in place to ensure the health and safety of our community. As of today, there are no confirmed cases at JMC Academy and therefore in accordance with the advice of the Chief Medical Officer and the Australian Government, JMC remains open.

Notwithstanding, we understand the heightened concern and uncertainty amongst both staff and students and therefore our team has been working very hard behind the scenes to plan for a variety of contingencies. I am working very closely with our academic staff and support teams to best transition current programs to a remote teaching mode while ensuring a consistent level of quality in your education is maintained.

In the meantime, any student who feels uncomfortable travelling to JMC will not be disadvantaged or penalised. We do however, request that you advise your lecturer or administration of your absence so we can endeavour to provide you with online resources and additional material, where possible, until a transition to online is complete.

Additionally, I would like to acknowledge the anxieties being caused by this pandemic and the strain it can potentially have on your mental health. Please understand that we do not take this lightly and want to take all actions in our power to make you feel as comfortable as possible. In support of this, we still have our on-campus counsellor available for consultation and are also currently looking at transitioning this to an online service in the very near future. While there are also a number of good resources online, I would like to reference Beyond Blue’s article on ‘Looking after your mental health during the coronavirus outbreak’ where they state that in such a challenging time it is important to:

• Try and maintain perspective
• Find a healthy balance in relation to media coverage
• Access good quality information
• Try to maintain a practical and calm approach
• Try not to make assumptions

Our number one priority remains the health and safety of our students and staff and while we remain open, we will continue with our preventative cleans, promotion of good hygiene and social distancing measures.

We appreciate that this is a rapidly developing situation and will provide more updates as they become available.

Sincerely,
George Markakis

Le Festival—Brisbane French Festival
Lime
“Lime continues to closely monitor developments around the world and remains in coordination with health and regulatory authorities in more than 25 countries. The below markets remain open and we will continue to adjust our operations as appropriate.

• Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

• Brisbane, Australia

• Busan, South Korea

• Christchurch, New Zealand

• Dunedin, New Zealand

• Hamilton, New Zealand

• Selwyn District, New Zealand

• Seoul, South Korea

As a reminder, we’d also like to ask the Lime community to do their part in helping to stop the spread of COVID-19. It’s up to each of us to take the necessary steps, as advised by your local public health officials.

Steps we’re taking to keep our communities safe in our open markets
• We have enhanced our cleaning methods and increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting our scooters. We are cleaning all parts of the scooter that are touched by people and we are only using products recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on the Center for Biocide Chemistries list that have been approved by the EPA for use against the coronavirus.

• In our offices and warehouses, we are distributing hand sanitizer. All of our mechanics and operators in the field are required to wear gloves and wash their hands regularly.

• We’re following the CDC, the World Health Organization (WHO), federal agencies, and other global health organizations to collect the most up-to-the-minute information to ensure the actions we’re taking are comprehensive and expedient. Based on this information, we will decide to continue, pause, or suspend operations in certain markets.

Steps you can take to protect yourself
• Just as you should wipe down public and shared surfaces with disinfectant, we encourage you to do the same before riding a scooter or bike.

• You could also consider wearing gloves as a precaution as well as washing your hands before and after riding.

In the coming weeks we will share additional updates with the Lime community as it becomes available. As soon as we know when we expect specific markets to go back online, we will be in touch.

To learn more about COVID-19 and other precautions you can take, please refer to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.

In the meantime, let’s take care of each other. Because as challenging as this is, we’ll get through it together. At Lime, we’ve always believed the people make the city. That’s doubly true now, when we need to step up and help each other.

Stay safe,

Brad Bao

Micah Projects
Ceased groups, now individual support as required.

The only change to service delivery that we are making is that we have ceased our groups, and are repurposing that time to support people on an individual basis. With the ongoing concerns of coronavirus (COVID-19), we continue to use the utmost vigilance to ensure services remain accessible to our most vulnerable and at-risk populations and our staff are supported in doing this work. All staff have the necessary support, equipment and directions for ensuring their own health and well-being and infectious disease protocols, whether on the street, in homes, in vehicles, in our offices or in the community. Micah Projects is a 24/7 organisation. To ensure our program participants who have experienced significant trauma receive the safety and support needed, we cannot close our doors or scale down our services while we deal with this pandemic and we need help from our community at this time. We are taking extra precaution to closely monitor the status of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and its impact on our community.

“QAGOMA TO CLOSE FROM 23 MARCH IMPORTANT VISITOR INFORMATION

For the safety of our community, both the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art will temporarily close to the public from 12 noon, 23 March 2020 until further notice.

The decision follows the Prime Minister’s announcement on 22 March of additional action to support social distancing measures and advice for all non-essential services to close in order to minimise the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The health and well-being of our visitors, our staff and volunteers, and the wider Gallery community is our top priority. We continue to work with the Queensland Government and coordinate with our partners in the Queensland Cultural Centre (QPAC, State Library of Queensland and Queensland Museum) to ensure the most appropriate response to COVID-19.

We would like to acknowledge the global scope of this challenge and the uncertainty faced by each of us as individuals and as a community. We thank you for your understanding, and your ongoing support of the Gallery.

While we’re closed, the Gallery team is continuing to work behind the scenes to ensure we reopen in the best way possible. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Gallery when the time is right. Meanwhile, we’ll update our online presence with news as it arises.

Queensland Symphony Orchestra
“Concert Cancellations
With a heavy heart Queensland Symphony Orchestra has cancelled all performances and activities up to and including April 30 as a result of COVID-19. This includes all concerts, educational workshops and community events.

We know this is disappointing for our audiences, not to mention our family of musicians who share a deep love of music and are born to perform. However, our top priority is the health of our patrons and our company, so it is crucial we follow the best advice available on COVID-19. We are working closely with all Government agencies, as well as our venue partner QPAC, and will share updates whenever they arise, particularly if there is a change in our restart date.

This is a challenging time for everyone, particularly our vibrant and internationally acclaimed arts sector.

Moving forward, all ticket holders will be contacted with further information, including the ongoing opportunity to donate the value of purchased tickets.

Already we have seen generous patrons choose to donate refunds on their cancelled tickets back to QSO, as a tax-deductible contribution, and we are so thankful. As a performing industry, we rely heavily on ticket sales, and the prospect of cancelling multiple shows will affect everyone significantly. It is not just musicians, but crew, lighting and sound technicians, producers, box office staff, casual workers and more. Your understanding, generosity and support is so appreciated.

History teaches us that in times of great challenge and uncertainty the arts are uniquely placed to provide hope and inspiration. We are so grateful to have such a loyal and supportive community, and we hope we can make use of this time to bring music to you in new ways.

As an Orchestra for Everyone, we are committed to sharing our love of music, despite the limitations placed upon us. Please follow us on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram to follow our progress.

Please stay safe and healthy and know that our show will go on. We will provide further update as the situation progresses.

“NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE
We regret to inform you that all remaining performances of TRIPLE X have been cancelled.

After careful review of government guidelines and updated advice about the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided that it is in the best interest of our community not to go ahead with the rest of our season of Triple X. While we make this decision with a heavy heart, our first priority is and always will be the health and wellbeing of our patrons, artists, staff and the public at large.

In this challenging time, all of us at Queensland Theatre are concerned for the wellbeing and long term viability of Australia’s arts community. We are especially mindful of the plight of freelance practitioners who do not have access to resources or contingency plans.

We greatly appreciate your understanding during this difficult period. Thank you for the support so many of you have already shown us. We are very grateful to our patrons who have chosen to donate refunds on their cancelled tickets back to us, as tax-deductible contributions – generosity like this will be essential to mitigate the impact of this unprecedented global event.

These are uncertain times. One thing we can be sure of, however, is that theatre is a necessary and vital space where communities are built, nurtured and maintained. Its importance will only continue to grow as we look to the future. Rest assured that we will be back and producing shows as soon as it is safe and advisable to do so.

“A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIRMAN & PRESIDENT – CORONAVIRUS – A TIME OF URGENCY; RESPONSIBILITY; PROFESSIONALISM AND ACTION
Swiss-Belhotel International remains committed to providing our guests and staff with a safe environment so they can stay with ease and conduct business with confidence. This is our culture of Passion and Professionalism.

With the coronavirus (COVID-19) affecting people and businesses globally, we have implemented comprehensive precautionary measures to safeguard the health and wellness of our guests and staff, including:
• Availability of face masks in the lobby.
• Placement of hand sanitizer stations in public areas.
• Scheduled sanitation of high-touch areas.
• Temperature checks for persons entering the hotel premises.
• Regular hand sanitation of all staff.
• Availability of local emergency hotlines.

At present, all our hotels and staff are coronavirus-free and we are working hard to keep it that way. We will continue to monitor the situation and respond accordingly to the advice of the government of the respective countries and the World Health Organisation where our hotels are located.

The health & safety of our guests and our team members is always our foremost priority. While the risk of contracting the virus in the local community remains low, we are working with the latest advice from the medical authorities and local government of the countries where we operate, as well as the World Health Organisation, regarding preventative and precautionary measures.

Enhanced cleaning and hygiene practices have been implemented in all of our hotels. Every two hours all common areas, as well as the back-of-house, are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to the most stringent standards. All guest rooms continue to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised regularly.

WE ARE CONFIDENT WITH OUR PROFESSIONALISM THAT WE ARE MAXIMISING THE PROTECTION OF OUR GUEST AND STAFF.

Tomra
Working remotely where applicable, normal business continuing as much as possible.

At TOMRA, the health and safety of our colleagues and their families, our customers, partners and the communities we are part of is always our primary concern. Most of our employees are now working remotely where possible until the end of March, at which point we will review the situation. We have been operating according to our business continuity plan for a number of weeks, and are continually assessing our production, delivery and service capabilities. At present we are able to fulfill most requirements with close to normal delivery times. Our geographically spread manufacturing footprint has been advantageous in maintaining our capacity, and we have also taken precautions by separating teams and increasing our stock of components. Our local sales and service organizations are endeavoring to maintain a close dialogue with our customers to ensure uninterrupted service and to anticipate and prepare for future needs. Please be assured that everyone at TOMRA is totally committed to supporting our customers, our partners and communities by working together to face this challenge.
